Green McCreamy Smoothie

This creamy green smoothie is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth with the help of Amazing Green Green Superfood’s chocolatey, alkalizing mix. Full of flax, kale, chia seeds, dates and avocado, this is an omega-3 celebration!

Play around with the amounts suggested here until you find the consistency for you. Some days, I can make this into a pudding-like treat, or keep it light for a mid-afternoon, energizing blend!

Ingredients

Yields about 36 oz. of smoothieavocado-coconut-smoothie-5

2 c. hemp or flaxseed milk

1 c. frozen chopped kale

1 tablespoon chia seeds

.28 oz of Amazing Grass Green Superfood mix in “Cacao Chocolate Infusion”*

or 2 teaspoons raw cacao powder

1 small banana

1 avocado

1-2 small handfuls of chopped dates

1-2 handfuls of ice cubes (appx. 3-5)

1 c. frozen strawberries or blueberries

Optional:

1/4-1/2 teaspoon maca powder (some tend to not like maca’s roasted flavor)

1 tablespoon peanut, almond, or other nut butter of your choice

Now the blend the f*** out of everything :), if you don’t want to chew your smoothie. I love Simple Green Smoothie‘s recommendation of blending the liquid + kale (or whatever leafy green you happen to be using) first to really chop things up.

Optional toppings:

Shaved, dried coconut meat

Chocolate-covered hemp seeds (oooooh yea, these exist!)

Walnuts or pecans

*Note:

Be sure to leave out the citrus when using alkalizing mixes such as this one! I adore the chocolate flavored ones. Not only do they satisfy my sweet tooth, but generally smoothies made “chocolatey” lack a citrus ingredient anyway. Sort of a dummy-proof method to making sure you’re mixing the right ingredients!
